Tawny Bean Soup Recipe

    chicken broth

    onions, coarsely chopped

    celery, diced
  • 1/2

    carrots, cut in 2 in pieces

    finely minced garlic

    cooked red beans (15 oz can)
  • 2
    cups
    cooked white beans
  • 1/4
    cups
    brown or green lentils
  • 1/4
    cups
    dry green split peas
  • 2
    cups
    beef broth
  • 4
    sprigs fresh thyme
  • 4
    bay leaves
  • 8
    sage leaves and stems
  • 1/4
    cups
    chopped Italian parsely (for garnish)
Instructions
In a medium-sized stockpot, heat 2 tablespoons broth over medium heat and saute the onion, celery, carrots and garlic for 3 to 5 minutes, until the onions are translucent.
